If you have elementary-age children, then you probably know about the Kite Festival. But if you are like me and have small kids, then you will be happy to know there is something fun and
FREE to do this Saturday.
Kite Festival
Saturday, April 16, 2011
10am - 9pm
Located @ the SunRiver Golf Course.
Directions: From St. George, drive south on I-15 past Exit 4 (Bloomington Walmart) until you reach Exit 2. Parking is
FREE and located just off the freeway.
What to do:
- Kite redemption for elementary-age kids (ask their teacher about it)
- FREE little kid games
- Bounce houses
- Open kite flying all day (east end of field)
- Concessions (west end of field)
- Remote control airplane demonstrations (west field)
- Music played by bands and elementary choirs.
- Dance and karate performances
- Fireworks at 9pm
Here is what I do: I pack a picnic lunch/dinner. We get in free and play the free kid games. Then we fly a $1 kite purchased from Walmart. We check out the performances, and finally we spend our money on activities and food we just can't resist.
