Visit The Haunted Cave for a scary experience this weekend from 6-11pm. The theme this year is "Area 51-Alien Invasion." This is a fundraising event for Washington County School District Foundation. The Cave is located at 1436 Red Ledge Road, Washington City (at On Site Storage). Tickets are $10 (but stop by any Wendy's and get a $2 off coupon). The Cave will be open on the weekends and Halloween week. www.halloweenonthetown.com

The Habitat for Humanity Restore is having a Halloween Party from 10am-2pm. Enjoy games, photos, make & take, fortune teller, crafts, Monster Mash dance, costume contest with prizes, face painting, balloon animals, music, Trunk or Treating and food.

Take the kids to the Fall Festival & Pumpkin Alley at the Tonaquint Nature Center from 5-7pm Monday for this free activity. Enjoy games and prizes, scavenger trail hunt, Black Cat Tattoo Parlor, Monster Snot ($0.25), crafts ($1) and a pumpkin carving contest. The divisions for the Pumpkin Alley Contest are: 6 & Under, 7-11 yrs, 12-17 yrs, 18 & Older. Prizes given to 1st-3rd place and awards will be given at 6:30pm. Dress in costume and have fun. Here are some spook-tacular activities coming up at the St. George Library:

 

Tuesday, October 16: The Science Club will meet from 6:30-7:30pm to do two activities: "Build-a-Skeleton," and "Dry Ice Bubbles." The Science Club activities are designed for ages 7-11.

Tuesday, October 23: The Art Club will meet from 6:30-7:30. Children will build a Halloween Village to take home including a twisted tree, a haunted house, and ghosts. Art Club activities are designed for ages 7-11.

 

Saturday, October 27: The St. George Library will participate in Washington County School District's "Spooky Town Fair" on Town Square in St. George. Visit their booth from 10:00am - 6:00pm and play some games! Also visit the Haunted Maze in the Library from 3:00-5:00pm for ages 12 and under.

Tuesday, October 30: 6:30-7:30pm "Spooky Story Time." A librarian will read spooky stories around a "campfire." All ages welcome, though parents of young children are invited to stay to keep young children from being frightened.

 "What Witches Want" is girls' night out farm-style! This year the party with start with some light food and turn in to a full-sized murder mystery. There will be hundreds of dollars in prizes to be won. Admission is $18/per witch and $60 for a coven of 4 witches.

While you are there, plan out your family trip to the farm. There are cow train rides, a petting zoo, farm-themed playground, corn maze and more!

This fun family event is held at the Cedar City Main Street Park in downtown Cedar City, Utah. For $5, children will receive a wristband which gives them access to all activities at the festival. Activities include:

• Pumpkin painting
• Cookie decorating
• Pumpkin bowling
• Face painting
• Pumpkin seed spitting
• Bean bag toss
• Special craft by Home Depot

Activities are geared toward preschool and elementary school-aged children. The COOP will provide hot dogs and hamburgers (cost not included in entrance fee).

The Pumpkin Festival is sponsored by the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business. Proceeds from the event go toward the Women in Business scholarship fund. Each year Women inBusiness award scholarships to women pursuing degrees at an Iron County university or college. Most of the supplies and activities are sponsored by local businesses.
