July 23 - All Pioneer Day Events by local LDS Churches. Parade starts at 8:30am at 400 S. & Main and travels to the Community Center (the old elementary school). I hope to have more details soon.

July 23- Pioneer Day activities sponsored by the LDS Church, Washington Utah Stake:
- Flag raising ceremony - 6:30 a.m. Washington City Veterans Park
- Breakfast - 7:00-8:30 a.m. Washington City Veterans Park
- Parade - 9:00 a.m. The parade route begins on 300 East Street at 500 North then travels south to the cemetery on Park View Drive. The route then goes east on Park View Drive ending at the ball fields parking lot.
- Food and Game Booths - 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Washington City Veterans Park (races beginning at 10:30 a.m.)
- The City's 24th of July Fireworks display is being planned to be launched from the baseball fields below the Washington City Community Center when it gets dark on Saturday July 23, 2011.

July 23- Pioneer Day Celebration at the Heritage Center located in Pine Valley 11am – 4pm. In celebration of Pioneer Day, forest employees and volunteers from DASIA will:
· Demonstrate old fashioned crafts (spinning, weaving, soap making, and quilting)
· Play music and demonstrate dancing
· Provide history discussions about Pine Valley and the Forest Service
· Teach about skills (bow and arrow making, using primitive tools and cross-cut saws, working with pack mules).
· Variety of concessions including caramel corn, corn dogs, scones, pies, homemade root beer, and ice cream.
· History presentation will be at 1pm by local historian Marian Jacklin.
· A pack mule demonstration will be at 2pm.

Want to learn to mountain bike? Bobbi Kirk is an experienced mountain biker and was once ranked #2 woman mountain biker in Utah. She leads this beginners ride for women. I rode 2 weeks ago with many ladies that have little and NO experience. Bobbi was a great instructor. She explained how to ride technical sections, demonstrates it, and then spots you while you try. She does this for the love of mountain biking, so it is FREE to get this excellent instruction.
I haven't asked her if I can give out her e-mail or phone #, so if you are intereseted in getting weekly ride information, send me a message and I will let her know.
This week we are riding the Prospector Trail.
