Metric Century
6:00 to 6:45 am: Metric Century Check-in and day of event registration
6:45am: Ribbon Cutting & Metric Mass Start with police escort

“Road Respect, Hurricane” is the final day of an epic statewide, week-long education campaign for car & bicycle safety. The Metric Century starts at 7am at the Hurricane Community Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony for Washington County's first officially designated bike route. The new route winds through Hurricane and around Sand Hollow Reservoir, returning back to Hurricane. The Metric Century riders will continue to Springdale for the ‘Road Respect, Springdale’ Festival where they will meet the original 25 Road Respect cyclists as they finish their statewide journey. All cyclists will continue back to Hurricane to celebrate the final leg of the Road Respect Campaign with the Family Festival.

Metric Century Registration includes:
  • Marked Course & map
  • Two fully stocked Rest Stops, one in Hurricane, one in Springdale
  • End of Ride Lunch from Durangos Mexican Grill
  • Event wristband & Road Respect vest
  • SAG support on course

Family Festival
10am - Noon

FREE activities include:
  • Free kid’s helmet giveaway courtesy of Cactus Huggers Cycling Club (first 100 kids who complete bike rodeo. Must be accompanied by parent.)
  • Kid’s bike rodeo with the Hurricane Police Department
  • Demonstrations and bike checks from Bicycles Unlimited and Red Rock Bicycles
  • Family Fun Bike Ride with Over the Edge Sports at 11:30am
  • Plus food, music & fun
Directions: From I-15 take the Hurricane/Zion National Park Exit 16 to Highway 9. The Community Center is located in the middle of town on the south side of State Street (also Hwy 9). Access from 200 West or Main Street. Parking is available along neighborhood streets around the Community Center, please be considerate of homeowners and don’t block driveways.
