Lego Robotics


Lego Robotics

Lego Robotics is a hands-on, minds-on learning experience. We use the new LEGO We Do kits and software, which integrates a variety of subject areas, including Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and language while working in pairs using laptops and LEGO bricks. Registration is limited to 24 students/session. A minimum of 4 registrants are required to hold the class. All equipment is provided. www.fun-gineering.com

Sign Up Begins May 24, 2012

All 7 branches of the Washington County Library System will start signing up those who want to participate in this summer's reading programs. The Summer Reading programs being June 4th and continue through July 30th.

The youth reader's theme is "Dream Big, Read" featuring unique traditions from around the world that relate to the world of dreams. The Teen program theme is "We Own the Night, representing the fascination many teens have for the night. The Adult theme is "Between the Covers" and runs concurrently with the children and teen programs.

Read each week and turn in your reading log for gift certificates. If you participate in all 8 weeks, you will be entered to win a grand prize featuring gift certificates, goodies, and an Ipod! A winner will be selected for the youth, teen, and adult programs.

Stay tuned to St. George Mom and/or visit your local library to see what awesome activities will accompany this summer's reading program.

The Utah Flute Circle, the Zion Flute Circle and the Arizona Flute Circle are delighted to present the 8th annual Zion Flute Festival a Native Flute and World event.

Located at 118 Lion Blvd, Springdale at the OC Tanner Amphitheater.

Entrance Fee is $5 per person per day, children under 12 are free. Evening concerts are $25 per person per night, children under 12 are free.

Presented by the Washington County Water Conservancy District for "Water Week." Booths (on sustainable living and community resources), Music, Bounce House, Prizes, and lots of fun for the family!
Located at The Garden in Tonaquint Nature Park, 1851 S. Dixie Drive in St. George

Also participate in the Water Walk from 7-8pm. Take a 2-mile walk along the river with Mayor McArthur and learn about local and world-wide water issues. The walk is meant to represent the daily walk mothers and children make in water-stressed countries just to obtain water for their families. The walk begins at The Garden in Tonaquint Nature Park and ends at Cottonwood Cove Park, 1027 S. Dixie Drive. A shuttle will transport participants back to The Garden.

Washington City Ironman Celebration
Saturday, May 5th from 8am-11am on the SW corner of Buena Vista and Main Street in Washington. FREE pancakes! Be ready to cheer on Ironman participants on the biking section of the race.
